Vitamins required for effective acne treatment

Everything that goes into our body through food and drinks has an effect on our skin. Even for that matter, there are things that we do not eat or drink but they still have an effect on our skin. Skin concerns such as acne, dry skin, psoriasis, skin eruptions etc. can be easily treated with the right kind of vitamins.

Especially, certain vitamins like A, C, D and E are highly essential for skin. These vitamins are highly crucial for maintaining proper skin balance. They help prevent dull and lifeless skin. With proper intake of these vitamins, you can achieve a beautiful and radiant skin. Although, you can get the synthetic forms as well of the different vitamins but they are not that effective and powerful as their natural version.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is recommended for the effective treatment of acne. Adequate amount of this vitamin in the body help prevent acne from occurring at the first place. Lotions and creams that are available over the counter for the acne treatment are filled with chemicals and ingredients that are too harsh for the skin. Although, they provide instant results but in the long run they are extremely harmful for the skin. Do not rely on these cosmetic products instead consume vitamin A in sufficient amount.

Selenium

Another very important nutrient for the wellness and beauty of skin is selenium. It is naturally found in eggs, nuts and cereals. Studies have proved that dietary intake of selenium has prevented and the same time has also cured cancer in laboratory animals. In humans, it enhances the treatment of chemotherapy and also slows down the aging process. Selenium also helps guard the skin against the UV rays of the sun. 

Vitamin B

Vitamin B3 – niacin, nicotine acid and B6 – pyridoxine works great for achieving healthy skin. They both are water soluble vitamins. These vitamins prevent skin from happening greasy which further restricts the development of blocked pores, blackheads, and acne. Sources of vitamin B3 and B6 are bananas, cabbage, broccoli, avocados, corn, cantaloupe, etc.  

Vitamin C

This vitamin is important for providing energy to the skin cells with proper modification of glucose. Vitamin C also helps prevent cystic acnes. Food items that are rich source of vitamin C are broccoli, oranges, green peppers, lemons, kiwi fruits, blackcurrants, brussels sprouts, cabbage, strawberries and many others.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E works as an antioxidant and helps get rid of the toxins and free radicals from the skin. This clears the skin and prevents acne from occurring. This vitamin also heals the skin, boosts tissue repair and strengthen the skin. All these above mentioned nutrients will work great for preventing and treating acnes and other skin concerns. By having a diet rich in these vitamins will help ensure a healthy skin and a healthy you!
